1 Where do I register for the Race? You can register online, or print a registration form at www.komenmiaftl.org. You can pick up an entry form at local Publix stores, South Florida Ford Dealers, and FootWorks. You can register on Race Day at the Registration tent, but the price is $35.00 on the day of the event. So register early!
2. How much is registration? Registration costs $27.00 online, and $25.00 offline (plus $2 for credit card processing) for the 5K Run, Walk and One Mile Fun Run if you register on or before October 7, 2011. From October 8-14, 2011, registration is $32.00 for online registration, and $30.00 offline. Race Day registratin is $35.00 on site, and the Tot Run is $10.00 at all times.
3. What does my registration include? You will get a Race number, a Komen Race for the Cure tee shirt, and a great feeling!
4. How can I fundraise? When you register online, you are offered the opportunity to create your own personal fundraising page. You can then send the link to that page to your friends and family and ask them to donate. If you register offline, we encourage you to collect pledges through cash or check donations.
5. Where do I drop my donations/pledges? You can bring or send them to Footworks, 5724 Sunset Drive, South Miami, FL 33143. You can also drop them off at the Registration tent on Race Day.
6. I am a survivor. What do I need to know? When you register, you can indicate that you wish to be recognized as a survivor. As a survivor, you will receive a special survivor tee-shirt and a survivor Race number. You will also be invited into the Survivor Tent on Race Day, where you will recieve a special survivors-only breakfast and goody bag.
7. What is the survivor ceremony? One of the most important aspects of this Race is the Survivor Processional and Ceremony. It begins at 7:30am (we ask all survivors to arrive at 7:00am) and features a survivor processional to the stage, followed by a 25 minutes ceremony dedicated to honoring our survivors. At the end of the ceremony, the crowd walks to the start line and the Race begins at 8:30am.
8. How do I start or join a team? Register online and click on the start a team, or join an existing team buttons This will walk you through registration.
9. When do I get my registration packet with my tee shirt and Race number? You have two options: you can pay the shipping fee of $5.00 and your packet will be mailed to you; or you can pick your packet up at FootWorks 24 hours after you regsiter. Packet pickup at Footworks is available after September.
10. When does the Race start? The walk/run starts at 8:30am.
11. What time does the Tot Run start? 9:45am – line up at 9:30am
12. How do I enter an offline gift so that it shows on my fundraising thermometer? After you've created your personal fundraising page, click on the progress tab at the top. On the right it says "Enter a New Gift". Click on there and enter your offline gift information.
